S Lenses

S-mount lenses are designed exclusively for the S-system's 30×45mm sensor. Central shutters in most lenses enable flash sync to 1/1000s—critical for studio work. The line spans ultra-wide (24mm Super-Elmar) to telephoto (180mm APO-Elmar), with fast Summilux primes at 35mm and 50mm reaching f/1.4. Weather sealing matches the S bodies. Optical designs maximize the medium format sensor's resolution advantage, delivering detail that exceeds 35mm full-frame systems.
