M Film

The M system defined 35mm photography. Introduced in 1954, the M3 replaced Leica's screw-mount cameras with a faster bayonet mount, brighter viewfinder, and refined rangefinder mechanism. Over seven decades, the line evolved from the M3 through the metered M6 to today's purely mechanical MP and M-A—yet the core design remains unchanged. Cloth focal-plane shutters, brass construction, and manual focus deliver a deliberate shooting experience favored by photojournalists, street photographers, and collectors worldwide.
